due to popular demand, nests is open to all students at 4 new york tech colleges

INCLUDING 4+1 & GRADUATE STUDENTS AT CoECS

Babak D. Beheshti, PhD

Dean, College of Engineering and Computing Sciences

The College of Engineering and Computing Sciences (CoECS) of New York Institute of Technology has worked hard to establish a cohesive and seamless ecosystem for entrepreneurship. This ecosystem includes many components, including our Entrepreneurship and Technology Innovation Center (ETIC), our incubator space, our Co-op program, and many more.

The Necessary Eleven Steps to Startups (NESTS) course, the first of its kind in the region, is the latest addition to this ecosystem. This course, already in high demand, brings in CEOs and principles of successful startups and leaders in the field to the classroom for our students to work hands-on in bringing their ideas, in various stages of maturity, towards the final goal of having their product, legal and business arrangement, and sales channels in place to launch their startups. We are proud that our students/entrepreneurs, along with our Co-op Director, a long-time entrepreneur himself, have led the process of facilitating this incredible resource for our community.

What Students Think About NESTS

Alisha K., Founder of VitaPath

This is possibly the best course I've ever taken in my college career, and without NESTS, I would have never known how to bring my ideas to life. The support and mentorship from the instructors, along with lectures from successful industry professionals, have made starting a startup more approachable. I don't think I would've had the confidence and knowledge to start my own company if it weren't for this incredible program.

Meng M., Founder of NoPad

“I didn't know what I was getting myself into at first, but now I feel like I am in the right place, in the right hands, on creating my own tech startup! I was able to build connections and learn from everyone in NESTS. I also really appreciate having all these guest speakers coming to speak with us, teaching us valuable lessons along the way.”
